
P-Bruins Earn Point in Shootout Loss to Monarchs

Manchester, NH-- The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 5-4 in a shootout to earn a point. Kevan Miller, Justin Florek, Seth Griffith and Matt Fraser each scored a goal, while Niklas Svedberg recorded 33 saves.
The Monarchs started the scoring with a goal from Tanner Pearson at the 5:09 mark. It was his third goal of the season, while Jordan Weal and Brandon Kozun recorded the assists. It took only two minutes for the Bruins to tie up the game, as Miller's shot from the point found the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Joe Morrow and Jarred Knight picked up the assists. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.
Manchester retook the lead at the 6:14 mark of the second period. Former P-Bruin Andrew Bodnarchuk tallied his second goal of the season, while Linden Vey and Nick Deslauriers had the assists. Brian O'Neill made it 3-1 at the 15:18 mark, scoring his first goal of the season. Vincent LoVerde and Bodnarchuk grabbed the assists as Manchester led 3-1 going into the second intermission.
Providence pulled within a goal at the 8:16 mark of third period. Shorthanded, Florek received the puck off a lucky bounce and put it into the back of the Monarchs net for his first goal of the season. Alexander Fallstrom and Ben Youds set up the play. The P-Bruins tied the game at three at the 13:33 mark when Griffith scored his goal second of the season. David Warsofsky and Morrow had the assists. Manchester went ahead again at the 16:36 mark to take a 4-3 lead. Robert Czarnik scored his first goal of the season with a one-timer from the slot. O'Neill and Colin Miller recorded the assists. With time running out in the game and the Providence net minder out of the net for the extra attacker the P-Bruins tied the game at four. At the 19:35 mark, Fraser scored the tying goal, his third goal of the season. Griffith and Carter Camper picked up the assists to force overtime.
After a scoreless overtime the game went into a shootout. In the shootout, Tyler Toffoli and Andy Andreoff tallied for the Monarchs, while the P-Bruins were held off the board as Manchester went onto the 5-4 victory.
Svedberg stopped 32 of 36 shots for the P-Bruins, while Martin Jones made 34 saves for the Monarchs. Providence was 0-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
Providence returns to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05pm against the Springfield Falcons for their annual "Pink In The Rink" Night.
