NORFOLK, VA -- The Albany Devils flipped the script on the Norfolk Admirals. On Friday, both teams exchanged power-play goals and after regulation and overtime, the Admirals claimed a 2-0 win in the shootout and a 2-1 victory overall.

Twenty-four hours later, the clubs both scored man-advantage goals and after regulation and overtime, the Devils scored twice in the shootout, earning a 2-1 win at Scope Arena. The victory moves Albany to 3-1-0-1 for the franchises best start.

Scott Timmins extended his point streak to five games, scoring at 11:29 of the second period. Eric Gelinas worked the puck to Joe Whitney at the right face-off circle. Whitney sent a shot/pass to Timmins for a quick redirect in front for Albany's fifth power-play tally of the season.

In the third, Norfolk's Charles Sarault tied the game at 14:51 from Kevin Gagne and Brett Skinner.

After a scoreless overtime period, Stefan Matteau and Joe Whitney scored in the second and third rounds, respectively. Scott Wedgewood denied all four Admiral attempts.

During the 65 minutes of live action, Wedgewood made 25 saves for his second win in as many games. He made six saves in the first, five in the second and 15 in the third. He was untested in overtime.

For the fourth time this year, Albany scored first and outshot its opponent. Norfolk's John Gibson made 27 saves on 28 shots.

The Devils continue their road trip with a 7:35 pm game against the Utica Comets Wednesday. The outing will be the home opener for the Comets at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Fans can stream the game at ahllive.com.
