Blackhawks Agree to Terms with Svedberg

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Viktor Svedberg (SVEHD-berg) on a two-year contract. He will remain with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Svedberg, 22, has tallied one goal and one assist in five games this season with Rockford. The 6-8, 235-pound defenseman also appeared in six preseason games with the Blackhawks, recording six shots on goal.

Prior to his North American career, the Goteborg, Sweden, native recorded seven points (3G, 4A) in 115 career games with Frolunda and Rogle of the Swedish Hockey League from 2009 to 2013.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 19 vs. Grand Rapids. Game time is 7 p.m. Rockford opens the home portion of their regular season schedule against the Griffins.
