Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Toronto goaltender Adam Munro made 27 saves to backstop the Marlies to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Friday night at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Phantoms remain six points behind the Binghamton Senators in the East Division playoff race with two games in hand after the Senators lost to Hershey on Friday.

The Marlies took care of the game with two goals in the first and one in the second. The first came just 1:22 into the game when Tim Stapleton put a shot over the shoulder of Philadelphia goaltender Scott Munroe. Then it became a 2-0 lead on a power play goal by Jaime Seifers, who cleaned up the rebound of a Jeremy Williams shot that hit Munroe and rolled over his shoulder..

The third goal came from Ryan Hamilton 4:35 into the second period. A shot from Joe Ryan on the right point started a ruckus at the top of the crease, and Hamilton was able to poke the puck over the line.

Munro earned first star honors with his 27 saves, while Munroe stopped 24 of 27 in taking the loss.

There are now just five regular season games remaining at the Wachovia Spectrum. Two of them will be played over the next two days when the Grand Rapids Griffins visit for a pair of matchups, on Saturday night at 7:05 and Sunday evening at 5:05. Saturday is Dollar Dog Night with the Phantoms.

Comcast-Spectacor and the Phantoms are now offering an amazing $10 adult ticket price for all remaining home games for the Phantoms final season at the Wachovia Spectrum, while all tickets for kids 14 and under are now $5. Tickets are available at the Wachovia Complex box office, online at Phantomshockey.com, or via ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200.
