
Ontario Reign Game Preview: Reign Open Five-Game Road Trip Tonight against Gulls

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), visit the San Diego Gulls tonight at 7:05 p.m. PT at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California. Tonight is the eighth of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.
On the Road Again:
The Reign continue a five-game road trip with a pair of contests against the Texas Stars on February 26 and 27 in Cedar Park, Texas and the San Antonio Rampage on March 6 and March 9 in San Antonio, Texas.
Mersch Recalled:
Earlier this morning, the Los Angeles Kings announced that forward Michael Mersch has been recalled from his loan to the Reign. Mersch, 23, leads the Reign with 19 goals, holds 28 points in 34 games and is second in the AHL with 149 shots. Earlier this season, the Park Ridge, Illinois, native skated in 15 games with the Kings, scoring three points including his first NHL goal on December 29 against the Edmonton Oilers. Full Story
Sabourin and Leslie Join Monarchs:
Also this morning, the Reign noted that forward Scott Sabourin and defenseman Zach Leslie have been reassigned from the Reign to the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL) by the Kings for conditioning. Full Story
Series at a Glance:
The Reign hold a 3-3-0-1 record against the Gulls this season and have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 7-0. Defenseman Vincent LoVerde, who scored the game-winning goal against the Texas Stars last night in a 4-1 victory in Ontario, leads the Reign and the series with seven points (one goal, six assists).
