Oklahoma City Barons News Release

SAN ANTONIO - Jordan Oesterle netted the game winning goal with 48 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Barons to a 4-3 overtime win against the San Antonio Rampage Friday night at AT&T Center and extend Oklahoma City's current winning streak to five games and unbeaten streak to seven.

With the overtime period into 3-on-3 play, Oklahoma City's Iiro Pakarinen carried the puck to the right circle of the San Antonio zone before sending a pass to the high slot where a streaking Oesterle corralled the puck and fired a shot past San Antonio goalie Michael Houser to give the Barons their third straight overtime win.

Oesterle's goal was the third for Oklahoma City in the game's final 14:04 of play as the Barons outshot the Rampage 20-8 in the final two periods and 38-30 for the game. San Antonio scored three times in the first period, but was held scoreless for the final 47:45 of the contest.

Drew Shore got the Rampage on the board first at 7:58 of the opening period when he took a pass from Connor Brickley and streaked up ice in a 2-on-1 chance with Mark Mancari and flipped a wrist shot over the glove of Barons goalie Laurent Brossoit.

San Antonio added to its early lead at the 11:02 mark of the first period when Logan Shaw fired a shot on goal from the left circle before grabbing his own rebound and sending it into the back of the Barons net from the slot to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Rampage.

At 15:33 of the first, Oklahoma City tallied its first score when Brad Hunt circled around the right side of the San Antonio zone and took a shot from just beyond the right circle that evaded traffic and sent Houser's water bottle flying.

With 1:33 left in the first period, San Antonio scored its third goal when Brickley shoveled a pass to Mark Mancari just inside the Oklahoma City zone and Mancari maneuvered around Barons defenseman Martin Gernat to create a breakaway opportunity the San Antonio winger converted, extending the Rampage lead to 3-1.

After more than 33 minutes without any scoring, the Barons began mounting their late comeback when Anton Lander sent a pass to a streaking Tyler Pitlick who took the puck just in front of the Rampage crease and pushed a shot past Houser, narrowing the San Antonio lead to 3-2 at 12:08 of the third period.

Matt Ford later tied the game with a shot from the deep left side of the San Antonio zone that snuck between the left post and Houser at 17:13.

Oesterle's overtime goal gave Oklahoma City its first win against San Antonio in six meetings this season.

The Barons' next game is Tuesday, Dec. 2, when they return home to take on the Utica Comets in a 7 p.m. start at the Cox Convention Center. The game is part of the Barons' Winning Weekdays promotion in which fans will automatically receive a free ticket to the next weekday game if the Barons are victorious on Tuesday night.
