Barons Win Fourth Straight, Beat Stars in OT 2-1

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Brandon Davidson scored the winning goal in overtime and Richard Bachman made 34 saves for the Oklahoma City Barons who downed the Texas Stars 2-1 Friday night for a second consecutive win at the Cedar Park Center.

With 3:58 remaining in the overtime period, Curtis Hamilton found Davidson near the high Texas slot and Davidson fired a one-timer that sailed over the glove of Stars goalie Jussi Rynnas to give extend Oklahoma City's winning streak to four games and their current unbeaten streak to six.

Making his first start in two games, Bachman held the Stars at bay, despite Texas outshooting Oklahoma City 35-23 on the game. In the overtime period, Bachman had five saves, including a series early in the frame that saw several high-quality chances by the Stars.

Dillon Simpson gave the Barons an early lead at 14:29 of the first period when he skated through the center of the Texas zone and received a pass from Ryan Hamilton before blasting a shot past Rynnas for a 1-0 Oklahoma City lead.

The only goal Bachman surrendered came at 16:40 of the second period with Oklahoma City on a 4-on-3 penalty kill stemming from two minor penalties to the Barons' Kale Kessy and a single minor to the Stars' Branden Troock at 15:57 of the period. Derek Meech fired a shot from the point that caromed off of traffic in front of the Barons net and right to Maxime Fortunus who flipped a shot past Bachman from the left circle to tie the game at one.

After a scoreless third period, Davidson's first goal of the season gave the Barons their fourth win in six games against the defending Calder Cup champion Stars.

The Barons' next game is Saturday, Nov. 29, when they travel to San Antonio to take on the Rampage in a 7 p.m. start at AT&T Center.
