Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers meet the Nashville Sounds for the fourth time in their five-game series at 7:05 p.m. at First Tennessee Park. OKC leads the series, 2-1...Last night the Dodgers lost for just the third time in the last 15 road games.

Last Game: Nashville scored four runs in the fourth inning and starting pitcher Joe Palumbo struck out 10 batters over five strong innings, sending the Dodgers to a 4-3 defeat Monday night at First Tennessee Park. Palumbo (1-0) yielded two hits and allowed one unearned run. The left-hander struck out seven of the game's first 10 batters and did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the fourth inning. Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin matched zeroes with Palumbo until the bottom of the fourth inning. With two runners on and one out, Carlos Tocci hit a three-run homer to right-center field and Isiah Kiner-Falefa later added a RBI double. The Dodgers answered with a run in the fifth inning when Gavin Lux knocked a RBI double to cut Nashville's lead to 4-1. The Dodgers scored again in the eighth inning on a RBI single by Angelo Mora. Within two outs in the ninth inning, DJ Peters walked to bring the tying run to the plate. Shane Peterson nearly evened the score, as his deep drive to right field hit halfway up the wall and resulted in a RBI double. With Peterson representing the tying run at second base, Sounds closer David Carpenter struck out Drew Jackson to end the game, as Carpenter earned his 13th save. The Dodgers bullpen combined for 4.1 scoreless innings to hold the Sounds at four runs. Shea Spitzbarth covered the first 2.1 innings, followed by one inning each from Jaime Schultz and Caleb Ferguson. Gonsolin (1-2) was charged with four runs and five hits, with three walks and four strikeouts, taking his first defeat since April 7.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Dennis Santana (2-5) returns to the mound for his team-leading 13th start of the season...Santana was charged with the loss in his last outing June 24 against Memphis in OKC. He allowed five runs (three earned) and six hits over 4.2 innings with six walks and three strikeouts...He enters today with 61 strikeouts over 54.0 IP, equating an average of 10.2 strikeouts per nine innings...Santana started the season with OKC, but was recalled April 7 by Los Angeles. He made three appearances out of the LAD bullpen before he was optioned back to OKC April 14...Santana began the 2018 season with Double-A Tulsa before making his first career start with OKC May 19, 2018 and his Major League debut on June 1. However, a right rotator cuff strain sent him to the 60-day Disabled List June 9...Santana entered 2019 ranked as the Dodgers' No. 7 prospect, according to Baseball America...He originally signed as a shortstop as an international free agent in March 2013 at the age of 16 and converted to pitching in 2014...Tonight is Santana's second start of the season against the Sounds. On May 7 in OKC, Santana pitched 4.0 shutout innings, allowing five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

Against the Sounds: 2019: 3-3 2018: 7-9 All-time: 186-156 At NAS: 90-82

Oklahoma City and Nashville meet for their second series of the season...The Sounds took two of three games in OKC May 7-10, with the finale currently suspended...During the first series between the teams, Will Smith led OKC with five hits, while Kyle Garlick racked up five RBI and hit two home runs...The Sounds are now the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers after serving as the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics the past four seasons...Nashville won the 2018 series against OKC, 9-7, winning seven of the final nine meetings. It marked just the second time in eight years the Sounds won the season series...Since First Tennessee Park opened in 2015, the Dodgers are 22-13 in Music City and have not finished with a record below .500 in any of the four seasons.

Young Bloods: Gavin Lux has hit safely in each of his first four Triple-A games and tallied his sixth extra-base hit with a RBI double last night. The 21-year-old Lux is now 9-for-18 with five doubles, a home run, two walks, three RBI and six runs scored...DJ Peters also doubled last night, scored a run and drew two walks for the Dodgers. He is 7-for-20 through five games with OKC, with four doubles, a homer, four RBI, five walks and four runs scored...Both players are ranked among the Dodgers' Top-10 prospects and were promoted from Double-A Tulsa Thursday.

Road Map: Despite losing last night, the Dodgers have won 12 of their last 15 road games and outscored opponents, 127-80. OKC is batting .316 (173x547) with 76 extra-base hits, 31 home runs and is hitting .338 (54x160) with runners in scoring position...Six of the 12 wins have been by at least six runs and OKC has scored 10 or more runs in seven of the 12 victories. Last night was just the second time in those 15 road games the team was held to fewer than five runs...The Dodgers have not lost consecutive road games since losing four in a row May 26-28 at Omaha.

I Came in Like a Rek-ing Ball: Zach Reks picked up another hit last night and has now sit safely in nine straight games (15x40) as well as in 20 of his last 21 games, batting .381 (37x97) with 12 multi-hit games, nine homers and 28 RBI. He has also hit safely in 24 of his last 25 starts, going 42-for-114 (.368) with 10 home runs, eight doubles and 32 RBI...Reks leads all Dodgers minor leaguers with 21 total homers and 61 total RBI between OKC and Double-A Tulsa over 73 games. Between 2017-18, Reks hit just seven homers and tallied 52 RBI over 135 games...In the month of June, Reks finished second in the PCL in total bases (74), tied for second in homers (10) and third in RBI (30).

For Pete's Sake: Jake Peter had Monday off, but on Sunday homered for the third time in five games as he extended his hitting streak to six games to match his season high. Peter is 9-for-23 during the streak with three multi-hit games, six extra-base hits, four RBI and six runs scored...After slashing .160/.331/.298 through the end of May, Peter is slashing .286/.384/.524 since June 1. He had 18 hits and nine extra-base hits in June after collecting 15 hits and six extra-base hits in April and May combined.

Quack Attack: Over his last 18 outings, all-star reliever Kevin Quackenbush has allowed two runs and 13 hits, with three walks and 28 strikeouts over 17.0 innings. He enters tonight with scoreless appearances in 12 of his last 13 games, holding opponents to one run and 10 hits with 20 strikeouts over 13.0 IP...Quackenbush ranks third in the PCL with 33 appearances and is tied for the most strikeouts among relievers (56).

Going Streaking: Angelo Mora has hit safely in five straight games for his longest hitting streak of the season with OKC and second-longest overall behind an eight-game streak with Double-A Tulsa in May. Over the last five games, Mora is 8-for-21, including two doubles and a triple, five RBI and five runs scored...Connor Joe is 7-for-19 with two homers, two doubles, six RBI, six runs scored and six walks during his current five-game hitting streak, which is tied his longest of the season. Joe leads OKC's qualified players with a .419 OBP, which also is tied for 12th in the PCL.

Around the Horn: Happy 23rd birthday to reliever Caleb Ferguson. In six non-rehab appearances with OKC this season, Ferguson has pitched 7.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk with 10 strikeouts...Team designated hitters have combined to bat .303 with five homers and 22 RBI over 29 games against American League affiliates...The Dodgers' offense had 14 strikeouts last night, marking the seventh time this season they have had at least 14 strikeouts in a game. The Dodgers have struck out a combined 27 times over the last two nights in Nashville...The Dodgers were held without a home run Monday for just the third time in the last 16 games.
