Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try to avoid being swept in a second straight series when they meet the San Antonio Missions for the final time this season at 6:05 p.m. at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The Dodgers have lost a season-high five straight games for the third time this season, and have dropped eight of their last 10 games, as well as 10 of their last 13 games.
Last Game: San Antonio scored 15 unanswered runs and put together two six-run rallies during a 15-3 win over the Dodgers Saturday night at Wolff Stadium. The Dodgers led, 3-0, heading to the bottom of the fourth inning before the Missions' offense came alive. Each of the first six batters collected a hit or walk, leading to six runs, including a RBI ground-rule double by Tyler Austin and RBI single by Tyrone Taylor. Nate Orf then hit a grand slam on to take the lead at 6-3. The Missions added a run in the sixth inning after two errors by the Dodgers. Six more runs and four more hits followed in the seventh. With one out in the inning, five straight San Antonio batters reached base, including RBI singles by Taylor and Orf. After a sacrifice fly by Jake Hager, the Missions tallied three more runs with two outs. Jacob Nottingham notched a RBI single, and Lucas Erceg delivered a two-run, pinch-hit double, pushing the lead to 13-3. Taylor socked a two-run homer in the eighth. The Dodgers had led 2-0 after three batters when Edwin RÃos connected on his team-leading 27th home run. With one out in the fourth, Cameron Perkins and José Lobatón hit back-to-back doubles to extend the lead to 3-0. The San Antonio bullpen held the Dodgers to no runs and three hits over the final five innings. Jake Faria (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to earn the win. Dodgers starting pitcher Justin DeFratus (2-5) began his outing with three perfect innings before things took a turn in the bottom of the fourth inning. He was hit with the loss after allowing six runs and seven hits over five innings.
Today's Probable Pitcher: J.D. Martin (3-1) looks to rebound from his first loss with OKC...Martin last pitched Aug. 19 in OKC against Nashville, tying his season and career-high mark with eight runs (seven earned) allowed and six hits over 5.0 innings with six walks and six strikeouts. He surrendered two homers, including a three-run homer during a five-run first inning...Martin has now made six starts with the Dodgers and the team is 4-2 in his outings...Martin has spent the bulk of the season with Tulsa and made 14 starts for the Drillers, going 2-7 with a 5.38 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 80.1 IP with 38 walks and 66 K's. He was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week after 7.0 scoreless innings against Midland May 2...Martin spent the entire 2018 season with Double-A Montgomery (Tampa Bay) while working as a knuckleball pitcher...The 2019 season is his 17th in professional baseball. He was originally selected by Cleveland with the 35th overall pick in the 2001 MLB Draft from Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, Calif. and made his Major League debut July 20, 2009 with Washington...Tonight is Martin's first career appearance against the Missions.

This marks the fourth and final series of the season between OKC and San Antonio and second series between the teams at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium...San Antonio is in second place in the American Southern Division standings, trailing division leader Round Rock by 2.0 games...Prior to Friday's loss, OKC had won four straight against the Missions and swept a three-game series between the teams at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark July 19-21. The three-game set was high-scoring affair, with an aggregate score of 32-19...The teams last played in San Antonio April 25-28 with the Missions winning the first four games before OKC won the series finale to avoid a sweep...San Antonio joined the league for 2019 as the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A affiliate following the relocation of the Colorado Springs franchise. The Missions previously played in the Double-A Texas League from 1968-2018...The Dodgers have struggled to produce at plate during their seven games in the Alamo City. They're batting just .191 (40x209) with a total of 15 runs and three homers. They've been held to three or fewer runs in six of their seven games at The Wolff and have not exceeded four runs.
Mound Maladies: Last night marked the 10th time in 21 games this month - and the fifth time in the last eight games - the Dodgers allowed 10 or more runs. Opponents have totaled 164 runs and 224 hits, with 50 homers and 101 extra-base hits, batting .304 overall (224x736). OKC's 7.51 ERA this month is the highest among all teams in the domestic Minors or Majors and OKC has allowed the fourth-most runs among all teams in the domestic Minors. Starting pitchers have posted a 7.64 ERA and relievers have a 7.33 ERA with seven blown saves...For the season, OKC has allowed 808 runs, which is a new single-season record during the club's modern PCL era (previously 764 in 2002). The 15 runs surrendered last night was the second-highest total this season and the 26th time this season the team has allowed 10 or more runs.
Simply De-Lux: Gavin Lux tallied two of the Dodgers' eight hits last night, including a double to lead off the game, and scored a run. Lux has now reached base safely in 43 of his first 44 Triple-A games and hit safely in 39 of the 44 games...Since joining OKC June 27, Lux is slashing .407/.493/.747/1.240. He has 74 hits, 22 multi-hit games, 34 XBH, 38 RBI and 51 runs scored. During that time, Lux's OBP ranks first among all players in the domestic Minors or Majors, while his AVG, hits and OPS are second, runs are third, SLG is fifth, and his extra-base hits and 136 total bases are sixth...He was named PCL Player of the Month for July, becoming the first OKC player to receive a PCL monthly honor since MLBAM began tracking the awards in 2010...Between OKC and Tulsa, Lux is batting .351 and his 155 total hits are for fourth in the domestic Minors.
Zach Attack: Zach McKinstry entered last night's game as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and grounded into a forceout in his lone at-bat. He's been held without a hit in back-to-back games for the first time since going without a hit in three straight games July 21-24 with Double-A Tulsa. McKinstry has hit safely in 15 of his first 18 games with OKC, going 27-for-61 (.443) with six doubles, a triple, seven homers, 25 RBI and 14 runs. He's tallied eight multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games, including four games with three or more RBI...Going back to July 25 with Double-A Tulsa, McKinstry has hit safely in 21 of his last 25 games, batting .459 (39x85) with a .521 OBP, .776 SLG and 26 RBI...Since joining OKC Aug. 4, McKinstry paces the PCL in OPS (1.349), ranks second in AVG (.441) and SLG (.881) and fifth in RBI (22). (*His stats from the first game on Aug. 20 - during which he went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer and walk - are officially recorded as occurring on May 10, thus the disparity in his total stats with OKC and his stats since Aug. 4.)
Kings of K's: OKC's pitching staff paces the PCL with 1,212 strikeouts after recording the team's fifth straight game with at least nine K's last night. The Dodgers have notched 22 more strikeouts than second-place San Antonio despite throwing 31.1 fewer innings. The Dodgers are on pace for 1,296 K's this season, which would surpass the team record of 1,277 set in 2017...On the other hand, the Dodgers' offense struck out 12 times last night, marking the ninth time in the last 14 games with 10-plus strikeouts. The team single-season strikeout record is 1,208, set in 2016, and the current squad is on pace for 1,250 strikeouts...The Dodgers and Missions have combined for 50 strikeouts over the first two games of this series.
Steady Eddie: Edwin RÃos slugged his team-leading 27th homer of the season last night. He's now gone deep 10 times in his last 17 games with OKC and 12 times in his last 19 games with the team...RÃos has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games with the team and is 23-for-64 (.359) with 16 extra-base hits, 10 homers, 24 RBI, 12 walks and 19 runs.
Around the Horn: The Dodgers are 2-9 over their last 11 road games after going 21-9 over the previous 30 road contests...Since moving to the bullpen earlier this month, Dennis Santana has allowed two earned runs and three hits over 8.0 IP with 12 strikeouts...OKC has been held to a total of seven runs over the last 29 innings. Going back to Tuesday, the team is 2-for-the-last-26 and 3-for-the-last-33 with RISP...OKC is trying to avoid a two straight series sweeps for the first time since Aug. 5-13, 2012 during four-game sweeps at Salt Lake and home against Sacramento.
