Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try to even their series against the American Southern Division-leading Round Rock Express at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond...OKC is 5-3 over the last eight games, but has lost back-to-back road games and five of the last six games away from OKC.

Last Game: Round Rock held the Dodgers to five hits and the Express scored five runs between the fourth and fifth innings, leading to a 5-3 Round Rock victory Thursday night at Dell Diamond. The game was scoreless heading to the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Express started off the inning with three straight hits, including a RBI single by Kyle Tucker to open the scoring. Following a double play, Nick Tanielu hit a two-run homer on a 0-2 pitch to make it 3-0. The Dodgers responded in the top of the fifth, scoring three runs on four straight hits with two outs. Zach McKinstry got the Dodgers on the board with a RBI triple off the center field fence, and Drew Jackson followed with a RBI double down the left field line. Gavin Lux pulled OKC even with a RBI single. In the bottom of the inning, an error opened the door for the Express to score twice. Myles Straw hit a RBI triple, and Drew Ferguson followed with a sacrifice fly, extending Round Rock's lead to 5-3. Round Rock starting pitcher Kent Emanuel (7-1) earned the win, allowing three runs and four hits over 5.2 innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. He did not allow a hit through the first four frames and retired 14 of the first 15 batters he faced. Round Rock's relief staff combined for 3.1 scoreless innings, and Brendan McCurry struck out all three batters in the ninth inning to record his sixth save. The OKC tandem of Mitchell White and Rob Zastryzny combined to allowed three earned runs and nine hits over eight innings, with no walks and five strikeouts. Zastryzny (3-5) took the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) and eight hits over 6.0 innings.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Logan Bawcom (1-1) makes his fourth start and fifth appearance for OKC tonight...Bawcom picked up the win in his most recent start Aug. 9, holding Tacoma to one run and three hits over 5.0 innings with one walk and six strikeouts in the Dodgers' 9-2 win. He began his outing by retiring 10 of 11 batters and 12 of 14 through four innings...Across the Dodgers minor league affiliates this season, Bawcom has a 2-1 record with a 3.74 ERA. He's notched 45 strikeouts against only seven walks in 45.2 IP...Bawcom signed with the Dodgers in mid-April as a free agent to begin his fourth career stint in the organization...He made eight starts for OKC in 2018, going 2-4 with a 6.52 ERA over 38.2 innings with 21 walks and 31 strikeouts and spent most of the 2018 season with Double-A Tulsa, making 12 starts...Bawcom was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 17th round in 2010 from UT-Arlington and has also played in the Mariners, Padres and A's organizations...Bawcom last pitched against the Express in May during his first appearance of the season with OKC. He pitched 3.0 innings of relief, allowing two runs and three hits with four strikeouts in a no decision.

Against the Express: 2019: 5-8 2018: 10-6 All-time: 129-106 At RR: 66-50

The Dodgers and Express are meeting for their fourth and final series of 2019. The Express have gone 22-10 since July 7 and currently own a 1.5-game lead over San Antonio for first place in the American Southern Division...It's been a streaky season series, with Round Rock winning the first six meetings before the Dodgers won the next five straight prior to Round Rock winning the last two. Round Rock's six-game win streak against OKC earlier this season marked the first time they had won six straight over OKC since 2006...The Express have outscored OKC, 78-63, and outhit OKC, 123-93...Will Smith, currently with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has paced OKC against the Express this season with nine hits and eight RBI. Current Houston Astros masher Yordan Alvarez batted .609 (14-for-23) with eight runs and 10 RBI in six games for Round Rock against OKC...Entering this season, OKC had won four straight season series against Round Rock.

Luxury Tax: Gavin Lux hit a RBI single and drew a walk last night, as he has now reached base safely in each of his first 37 Triple-A games, and including his time with Double-A Tulsa, Lux has reached base safely in 50 consecutive games. He owns the longest current on-base streak in professional baseball, and his streak is the third-longest in the PCL overall this season...Since joining OKC June 27, Lux is slashing .429/.514/.795/1.309. He has 67 hits, 20 multi-hit games, 31 XBH, 33 RBI and 48 runs scored. During that time, Lux's AVG, OBP, OPS, hits and runs scored are the best, or tied for first, among all players in the domestic Minors or Majors, while his extra-base hits and 123 total bases are second and his SLG is fifth...He was named PCL Player of the Month for July, becoming the first OKC player to receive a PCL monthly honor since MLBAM began officially keeping track of the awards in 2010...Between OKC and Tulsa, Lux is batting .357 and his 148 total hits are tied for third in the domestic Minors.

Cup O' Joe: Connor Joe collected a hit, RBI and walk last night in Round Rock. For the season, he ranks tied for third among PCL leaders with 65 walks and is fourth with a .429 OBP. His 66 total walks (including one with the San Francisco Giants) are a career high...Since June 27, he paces the league with 32 walks, and is second with 42 RBI, third with 40 runs scored and fifth with a .458 OBP...He paces the Dodgers with 95 hits, 76 runs scored and 65 walks this season and ranks second with 65 RBI.

Zach Attack: Zach McKinstry connected on a RBI triple last night and scored a run, as he has hit safely in nine of his first 10 games with OKC, going 17-for-36 (.472) with four doubles, a triple, four homers, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored...Going back to July 25 with Double-A Tulsa, McKinstry has hit safely in 16 of his last 18 games, batting .484 (30x62) with a .549 OBP, .790 SLG and 18 RBI.

Hit Men: The Dodgers were held to three runs and five hits last night, marking the third time in five games OKC's offense was reigned in and scored three or fewer runs and tallied five or fewer hits. The team is 2-3 over its last five games, and in the three losses, the Dodgers have batted just .103 (9x87) with six runs and a 2-for-16 clip with runners in scoring position. In the two wins, the Dodgers have batted .397 (27x68) with 22 runs and 13-for-25 with RISP...Despite the recent inconsistency, the Dodgers have been one of the PCL's best offensive teams over the last month. Since the All-Star Break, the Dodgers lead the PCL in OPS (.952) and are tied for the league lead with 154 walks. They rank second in the league with 245 runs scored, 71 homers, 234 RBI and a .562 SLG. Additionally, they also rank second in the American Conference in hits (333). Over the 32 games following the break, OKC has scored nine or more runs in 14 games and tallied double-digit hits in 21 games.

Dinger Details: The Dodgers did not hit a home run Thursday night, marking the first time since May 27-28 the team has not gone deep in consecutive games. Since July 1, the Dodgers have hit the third-most homers in all of professional baseball (82 HR), trailing only Las Vegas (92 HR) and the New York Yankees (84 HR). The Dodgers have been kept inside the park in three of last five games, but prior to that, they had hit at least one homer in 28 of the previous 30 games...On the other hand, the Dodgers allowed their 13th home run in six games last night, and the 38 homers they've allowed since July 27 are most in the Minors (17 G)...The Dodgers have already established single-season team records with 182 homers hit (previously 171 in 2005) and 173 homers allowed (previously 153 in 2004).

Around the Horn: The Dodgers are 1-5 over the last six road games after going 21-9 in their previous 30 road contests...Jedd Gyorko was held without a hit Thursday, and is 5-for-18 with a double, homer, five RBI, three walks and four runs scored over six games of his ML rehab assignment with OKC...OKC's pitching staff paces the PCL with 1,129 strikeouts this season. The Dodgers are on pace for 1,306 K's this season, which would surpass the team record of 1,277 set in 2017...Last night was just the fourth time this season the OKC pitching staff did not issue a walk and the first time since June 27 vs. New Orleans...Over his last six outings, reliever Josh Sborz has allowed one run over 7.2 IP, giving up three hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. Fellow reliever Jaime Schultz has turned in five straight scoreless outings, totaling 6.0 IP, with three hits allowed.
