
Dodgers Kept in Station by Express

Round Rock, Texas - The Round Rock Express held the Oklahoma City Dodgers to five hits and the Express scored five runs between the fourth and fifth innings, leading to a 5-3 Round Rock victory Thursday night at Dell Diamond.
The game was scoreless heading to the bottom of the fourth inning. Round Rock starting pitcher Kent Emanuel did not allow a hit through the first four frames and retired 14 of the first 15 batters he faced. OKC's Mitchell White returned off the Injured List and retired six of seven batters over his two innings, and Rob Zastryzny followed with a scoreless third inning.
The Express (73-48) started off the bottom of the fourth inning with three straight hits, including a RBI single by Kyle Tucker to open the scoring. Following a double play, Nick Tanielu hit a two-run homer on a 0-2 pitch from Zastryzny to make it 3-0.
The Dodgers (57-64) responded in the top of the fifth inning, scoring three runs on four straight hits after having the bases empty with two outs. Zach McKinstry got the Dodgers on the board with a RBI triple off the center field fence, and Drew Jackson followed with a RBI double down the left field line. Gavin Lux then pulled OKC even with a RBI single.
In the bottom of the inning, Jackson committed a fielding error with one out that proved costly. Alex De Goti reached base a result of the error and then scored one batter later on a RBI triple by Myles Straw. Drew Ferguson followed with a sacrifice fly, extending Round Rock's lead to 5-3.
The Dodgers put the tying runs on base in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, but went 0-for-5 during those chances. OKC was held 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position during the game, and outside of the four straight hits with two outs in the fifth inning, the team went 1-for-29.
Emanuel (7-1) cruised until running into trouble in the fifth inning, but still earned the win. The lefty allowed three runs and four hits over 5.2 innings, with two walks and four strikeouts.
Round Rock's relief staff combined for 3.1 scoreless innings. Brendan McCurry struck out all three batters in the ninth inning to record his sixth save.
The tandem of White and Zastryzny combined to allowed three earned runs and nine hits over eight innings, with no walks and five strikeouts. Zastryzny (3-5) held the deficit at two runs following the fifth inning and faced the minimum over his final three frames. He allowed five runs (three earned) and eight hits, with two strikeouts over six innings in the losing decision. The lefty induced four ground ball double plays.
The Dodgers did not hit a home run Thursday night, marking the first time since May 27-28 the team has not gone deep in consecutive games.
