Trying To Crown The Kings: The Tulsa Oilers host the Mississippi RiverKings tonight. It's the second visit of the season for Mississippi. This is the sixth game of a seven game homestand for the Oilers.
Records: Oilers are 6-11-1 with 13 points in fourth place in the Northwest Division.
Mississippi is 14-6-1 for 29 points in second place in the Northeast Division.
Season Series: This is the third of nine meetings between these two teams this season. Mississippi won 8-3 in Mississippi on October 30th, and 5-2 in Tulsa on November 6th.
Recent Action: The Oilers are coming off a 4-3 loss to Oklahoma City last Saturday. Mississippi defeated Wichita at home on Tuesday, 4-0. Sebastien Centomo made 21 saves for the RiverKings' third shutout of the season.
Getting Hot: Right winger, Jeff Christian, the reigning CHL scoring leader and MVP has racked up 10 points in his last five games. His three goals and seven assists in that stretch have moved him to the top of the Oilers scoring chart with four goals and 13 assists for 17 points. He has three goals and three assists in his last two games.
Welcome Back...Again: Curtis Voth joins the Oilers tonight for his third tour of duty with the team. In 1998-99 he registered seven goals and 426 penalty minutes in 56 games; in 1999-00 he had 13 goals and 466 PIM in 66 games; and in 2005-06 he played 17 games with no goals and 159 PIM. He also had a stint with the RiverKings in 2000-01 in which he played 15 games with one goal and 160 PIM.
Next Up: The Oilers conclude the seven game homestand tomorrow against Bossier-Shreveport when Radio Disney will perform during the game. It's also the Oilers annual Teddy Bear toss and May's Drug Warehouse camera night with the first 1,000 fans. One camera includes a prize of $500 from May's Drug Warehouse. Tomorrow is the Oilers' 1,000th regular season game since the re-birth of the Central Hockey League in 1992-93.
