[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions are offering a great Saturday night option with more than just a hockey game to attend. The Scorpions will host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:15 p.m. on the annual "Salute to the Military Night." All military personnel can get their tickets for only $11 by calling the Scorpions office at (505) 881-PUCK or showing their military ID at the door.

On the ice, the Scorps will wear special jerseys to honor the men and women who currently and have served our great nation. Following the game the jerseys will be up for bid in a live auction will partial proceeds benefiting Blue Star Mothers New Mexico Chapters. The Scorpions wish to thank the U.S. Army for being the game's presenting partner.

It will also be "Teddy Bear Toss Night" at the Santa Ana Star Center . Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear with them to the game. When the Scorpions score the first goal, all the teddy bears should be thrown to the ice. The bears will be collected and donated to needy children during the holiday season. Bears will be available for purchase at the game, as the Exchange Club will sell their mascot, Time-Out Teddy, for $10.

Every game the Chuck-A-Puck promotion is a huge hit. Saturday night will have a special prize valued at over $5,000. The Scorpions players, staff and StingerZ with the great help of Habitat For Humanity have built a Scorpions themed playhouse.

As usual, the person closest to center ice with their chuck-a-puck will win the grand prize. The price so this special edition of chuck-a-puck will be $7.50 for just the puck or fans can purchase a package that includes a chuck-a-puck and game ticket for only $15.

There will also be a silent auction on the concourse featuring a motorcycle previously owned by fallen Rio Rancho Police Officer Jermaine Casey. Proceeds from the silent auction for the 2004 Kawasaki 1200 will benefit the family of Bernalillo County Officer Shannon Key Cancer Fund.

Bring the whole family out this Saturday night as the Scorpions look to sting the Bees and continue their solid play on home ice. Tickets are always available at the Scorpions office, the Santa Ana Star Center Box Office, local Ace Hardware location and the Santa Ana Star Casino Promotions Desk.
