Hounds now 2-2 at home after loss

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds took a 3-2 lead into the third period before falling to the Texas Brahmas by a score of 4-3 on Friday night.

Youngstown jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Chris Richards scored his 10th goal of the season at 5:52 of the first period. It was a power play goal for Richards as both teams netted two goals while on the man advantage. Texas tied it at one thanks to Blair Manning's fifth goal of the year at 11:03. Youngstown answered back as Eric Przepiorka scored his first of two on the night with 27 left to make it 2-1 Hounds after one period.

Youngstown took a 3-1 lead early into the second period as Przepiorka scored on the power play at 2:23. He leads the team with 13 goals. Anders Strome scored a power play goal at 18:13 for Texas to pull to a 3-2 deficit after two periods.

The Brahmas went over 11 minutes without registering a shot in the third period but only needed five to finish the comeback. Chris Thompson scored at 13:52 and Kevin McLeod notched the game winner at 17:41 to defeat Youngstown 4-3 at the Chevrolet Centre.

The Hounds out shot the Brahmas 15-5 in the third period and 33-23 for the game but are now 16-6-1 (33 points). The SteelHounds hold just a two point lead on the Mississippi RiverKings for first place in the Northeast Division. Texas improves to 13-6-1 (27 points) after defeating Youngstown for the very first time inside the Chevrolet Centre.

These two teams will finish their three game series on Saturday night at 7:05 in Youngstown.
