Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Oklahoma City - Goaltender Scott Reid made 44 saves to help lead the Rocky Mountain Rage to their fourth straight victory, a 3-2 shootout win against the Oklahoma City Blazers at the Ford Center.

The game was as even a contest as you'll see as the clubs were tied for more than 62 of the 65 minutes of regulation and overtime. Rocky Mountain took a 1-0 lead at 16:46 of the first off Clay Plume's first of the year. But Oklahoma City answered just 1:26 later when Marc Connors jammed home a rebound to send the game to the second tied at one.

After a scoreless middle period, it was the Blazers' turn to experience a fleeting moment in the lead. D.J. Jelitto swept in a loose puck at 14:26 of the third. The Rage answered, though, when Trevor Weisgerber laid off a perfect pass for Tyler Butler, who hammered home a slapshot from just inside the blue line at 15:31 to eventually send the game to overtime.

Following a scoreless extra session, Reid stopped four of five Oklahoma City shooters in the tie-breaker and was aided by goals from Simon Watson and Scott Wray, who was credited with his team-leading fourth game-winning goal of the season.

Reid's 44 stops equaled the team season-high, first set by Terry Dunbar during a 4-3 shootout win on Oct. 20 against the Amarillo Gorillas.

The Rage's four straight wins bring the team's record to 16-2-2. They lead the Northwest Division with 34 points, nine ahead of the second-place Colorado Eagles.

Rocky Mountain remains on the road tomorrow when the club travels to face the Wichita Thunder.
