OF Avisail Garcia begins MLB rehab assignment

The Charlotte Knights have announced three roster moves ahead of tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Durham Bulls at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Chicago White Sox OF Avisaíl García (ah-vee-cy-EEL) will begin a major league rehab assignment with the Knights starting today. García, who was an American League All-Star last season, is currently on Chicago's 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. This season, Garcia has appeared in 18 games with the White Sox and is hitting .233 (17-for-73) with five runs scored, three doubles, one home run, and four RBIs. García is in tonight's lineup for the Knights batting second as the team's DH.

RHP Spencer Adams, who entered the 2018 season ranked as the number 12 prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization by Baseball America, has been promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham today. Adams, 22, was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the second round of the June 2014 First-Year Player Draft. In 13 games (all starts) with the Barons this season, Adams has compiled a 3-6 record with a 4.59 ERA (68.2 IP, 80 H, 36 R, 35 ER, 20 BB, 53 SO). Adams will wear #18.

LHP T.J. House, 28, was released by the Chicago White Sox organization. House posted a 1-6 record with a 6.81 ERA in nine starts with the Charlotte Knights this season. He was signed as a free agent by the Chicago White Sox on January 22, 2018. A non-roster invitee to major league spring training, House began the 2018 season with the Knights.
