Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees rallied from the three run deficit for a 9-6 win over the Reno Aces on Monday night.

Salt Lake trailed 6-3 after five innings, but scored two runs in each of the next three innings for the comeback win to open the series. In the sixth, Francisco Arcia pulled the Bees to within one with a two run double. Salt Lake took the lead with two more runs in the seventh, as Taylor Ward doubled and scored the tying run on a single by Kaleb Cowart. After Jabari Blash singled, Nolan Fontana walked to load the bases and Rymer Liriano drew a base on balls to force in the go ahead run. Salt Lake would get some insurance in the eighth on a leadoff home run by Jose Miguel Fernandez with another run scoring on a wild pitch.

The Bees' bullpen allowed the offense to comeback, as they combined for five and one-third scoreless innings. Ryan Clark went one and one-third innings to close out the fourth and cover the fifth. Miguel Almonte (1-0) would work a 1-2-3 sixth inning to earn the win. Oliver Drake went one and two-third innings and Taylor Cole recorded the final four outs to earn his sixth save of the season. Liriano led the Bees with two hits and three RBI. Fernandez and Cowart each had three hits and one run batted in, while Ward added three hits and scored three runs.
