ROUND ROCK, Texas - Eight members of the Round Rock Express (34-42) starting lineup registered at least one base hit in a 7-1 series-opening victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers (35-40) on Monday night at Dell Diamond.

Express starter RHP Chris Jensen (1-0, 6.15) earned his first win in a Round Rock uniform after giving up just one run and one hit over 5.0 innings on the hill. On the losing end, Omaha RHP Scott Barlow (1-2, 4.85) ended up with the loss after he surrendered six runs, five of them earned, on seven hits and a walk in the game's first 3.0 frames.

The Storm Chasers were able to plate the first run of the evening without recording a hit in the top of the first. Leadoff man Donnie Dewees worked a walk before advancing to second on a groundout before eventually stealing third base. With RF Jorge Bonifacio at the plate, Jensen misfired a wild pitch off the wall behind the plate that allowed Dewees to trot home with ease, putting Omaha up 1-0.

Wasting little time on a response, the E-Train produced a five-run rally in the bottom of the second to grab a 5-1 lead. LF Willie Calhoun began the frame by singling into right field before swiping his first bag of the season to move into scoring position at second. 1B Ryan Rua then reached on a single of his own and stole second base, forcing a tough throw by Storm Chasers C Cam Gallagher that bounced into centerfield to give Calhoun a free pass to the plate.

With the score now tied after the error, Round Rock DH Hunter Cole connected on his first Dell Dinger of the season when he launched a two-run shot over the fence in left to lift the Express to a 3-1 advantage. C Juan Centeno and SS Hanser Alberto proceeded to reach base on an error and a single with CF Drew Robinson driving them both home on a line-drive base hit to center.

The E-Train refused to let up in the third and fifth as they stretched the gap to 7-1. After Robinson collected his second single of the contest to lead off the third, Centeno punched an RBI double down the right-field line. Later in the fifth, 3B Andy Ibanez blasted a no-doubt solo homer to put a final stamp on the Round Rock victory.

Following Jensen's solid start, Express relievers RHP Tayler Scott and LHP Brady Feigl closed things out over the last four frames as they held Omaha scoreless while permitting just four hits and two walks.

Game two of the four-game set will start at 7:05 p.m. CDT tomorrow night at Dell Diamond. Round Rock LHP Michael Roth (2-1, 3.72) is slated to start on the mound in opposition of Omaha RHP Josh Staumont (1-2, 3.15).
