54 and Counting: Nick Martini extended his on-base streak to 54 games Friday night when he walked in the third inning. He's hitting .332 (65-for-196) with 35 runs, 30 RBI, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs and 39 walks during the streak that is the longest in Minor League Baseball. The 54-game streak is the longest by a Nashville Sounds player in the Pacific Coast League era. Since MLBAM began tracking on-base streaks in 2009, Martini's 54-game streak is the 4th-longest in professional baseball. The longest on-base streak in professional baseball since 2009 belongs to Andrew Velazquez of Single-A South Bend when he reached in 74 straight games in 2014.

Totally Pitchin': Pitching has been the strength of both of these two ball clubs. Both the Sounds and Dodgers are in the top five in the Pacific Coast League in ERA, walks, runs allowed, home runs allowed, and WHIP.

Worth the RISP: The Sounds went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position Sunday night and are batting .259 on the season in that situation, which is 13th in the Pacific Coast League. Only Iowa (.251) and Tacoma (.250) have lower batting averages with runners in scoring position. Oklahoma is sixth in the league with a .284 average. Salt Lake leads the circuit with a .305 clip.

Start it Up: A Sounds starter has not factored into the decision in seven straight games and in 12 of the last 13. The seven-game streak is the longest of its kind for the Sounds. The last starter to factor into a decision was James Naile on June 16 when he was dealt the loss at Albuquerque. Naile is also the last Nashville starter to earn a win, which he accomplished on June 6 at Reno. On the season the Sounds starting rotation is 15-28 while the bullpen is 18-11.
