
Neuvirth Recalled to Washington Capitals

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/General Manager Jared Bednar announced today goaltender Michal Neuvirth has been recalled to the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.
Neuvirth, 20, is in his rookie season after playing two seasons in the OHL, splitting time with the Plymouth Whalers, Windsor Spitfires and Oshawa Generals. The Usti Labem, Czech Rep. native led the ECHL in both goals against average and save percentage (1.74 gaa, .938 sv%). The 6-foot-1, 193-pound net-minder went 5-3-0-0 in his eight games with the Rays. Neuvirth will be in the lineup tonight for the Capitals when they play host to the Ottawa Senators. Originally, Neuvirth was the Capitals' 2nd round pick (34th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rays take on the Southern Division leading Florida Everblades tonight and tomorrow night at Germain Arena in Estero, FL. Both games can be heard on ESPN Radio 910 The TEAM with the pre-game show beginning at 7:15 and the drop of the puck at 7:30.
The Rays return home for games on the 19th and 20th against Northern Division foes, the Elmira Jackals. Friday the 19th is BB&T's Blow the Dough and the Saturday the 20th you can get your picture taken with the one and only Santa Claus.
