Blades' Blanked 3-0 in Return Home

Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (15-4-2) dropped a 3-0 decision in their first game back at Germain Arena in nearly a month as the South Carolina Stingrays (13-6-2) collected their third straight road win on Friday night in front of a crowd of 5,918.
Behind goaltender Bobby Goepfert's 31 saves for his second shutout the Stingrays ended the Everblades four-game home winning streak with stong defense and a pair of power play goals.
The scoring opened midway through the first period when Keith Johnson notched his fifth goal of season at 8:22. After Travis Morin's shot from the right circle was stopped by Everblades goalie Anton Khudobin, Johnson, waiting at the left post collected the rebound and swept the puck into the net. Paul Kelly collected the second assist on the goal.
South Carolina's lead remained at 1-0 until the late stages of the second period thanks to some strong goaltending by Khudobin, but a fluky bounce eventually gave the Stingrays a two-goal lead. Off an offensive zone face-off win, Nate Kiser's slap shot from the blue line sailed over top of the net and off the end glass. The rebound however came back over the net and ricocheted off Khudobin and across the line for Kiser's first goal of the season. Morin and Zach Tarkir picked up the assists.
The Stingrays finished off the scoring 10:51 into the third period when Pierre-Luc O'Brien picked up a loose puck at the left side of the Florida net and stepped to the front before slipping a back-hand shot between the pads of Khudobin for a 3-0 lead. The goal was O'Brien's sixth of the season and Johann Kroll and Matt Scherer collected the helpers.
Khudobin (10-2-1) suffered his first loss since Oct. 18 allowing the three goals on 29 shots. Goepfert improved to 6-1-2 with his 31 save effort.
On the power play, the Everblades continued to struggle on home ice failing to convert on six chances. South Carolina closed out the game 2-of-4.
