Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the organization has signed defenseman Tim Branham ["BRAN am"] to an ECHL contract. Branham, a third round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft who hails from Eagle River, Wisconsin, has played a total of 282 pro games, which includes 64 AHL games with the Portland Pirates and Saint John Flames. This marks the first call-up of the season for Ward, who has scored two goals, picked up seven assists (nine points) and registered six penalty minutes in eighteen games with the Royals.

Branham is expected to be in the Royals' lineup tonight (December 12 @ 7:05 pm) when the team faces off against the Elmira Jackals at the Sovereign Center in Reading.
