TRENTON, N.J. (December 12, 2008) -- Charlie Effinger's 29 saves and goals by New Jersey natives Matt Radoslovich and Jim Henkel gave the Devils a 2-1 win over the North Division leading Johnstown Chiefs on Friday night.

The Devils broke through 7:54 into the game on an odd-man rush started by a Matt Cohen pokecheck. The loose puck went to Dave Leaderer, who led an odd-man rush into the Chiefs zone and dropped a pass to Jeff Prough at the left circle. Prough fired the puck, giving up a rebound to Radoslovich who buried the puck into the net, his third tally of the season.

In the second period, the Devils capitalized on a two-man advantage as Matt Cohen fired a puck from the high slot towards the net. The puck was deflected into the goal by Henkel, who was credited with his fourth goal of the season at 4:17.

The Chiefs fired back later in the period as Mike Bartlett rifled a shot from the blue line past Effinger for the Chiefs' only goal of the night at 12:11.

Effinger held his ground for the rest of the game, and was dazzling in the third period by stopping all of Johnstown's 13 shots in the frame. Effinger earned a win in his third straight start for his efforts.

The Devils outshot the Chiefs 39-30, and Trenton finished the game 1-for-6 on the power play.
