Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Central Hockey League announced today the starters for the 2010 CHL All-Star team, and two Colorado Eagles were voted into the opening lineup. Colorado captain Riley Nelson and defenseman Aaron Schneekloth will be joining head coach Kevin McClelland in Laredo, Texas for the midseason showcase on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

All-Star team starters were voted on by league coaches, communications staffs and select media members from local markets. Additional members of the team could be announced this Thursday when the league releases the rest of the All-Star team's roster.

Not counting last season -- when the Eagles took on the All-Star team -- the selections mark the second and third CHL All-Star Game for Nelson and Schneekloth respectively. It is Nelson's first time being voted in as a starter and Schneekloth's second (he joined Greg Pankewicz in Broomfield in 2008).

Nelson was named to the All-CHL Team and voted the league's "Best Overall Player" by his peers last season. He is currently second in the league in scoring, trailing only teammate Kevin Ulanski.

Schneekloth was also named to the All-CHL Team last season in addition to being named the CHL's "Most Outstanding Defenseman." He's currently the league's second-highest scoring defenseman while leading the entire CHL with a +24 plus/minus rating.
