Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced the signing of a new player. Forward Parker Bowles has been signed to an amateur tryout.

Bowles, 21, joins the Nailers after playing four full seasons of junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Tri-City Americans. After suiting up in two games in 2011-12, Parker made himself a more permanent fixture in Tri-City's lineup in 2012-13, appearing in all but one regular season game, while finishing fourth on the club with 44 points. The following two years featured a few less games for the Kelowna, British Columbia native, but the points began to pile up at a more rapid rate. As an 18-year old, Bowles finished tied for second on his team with 40 points, despite taking the ice for just 39 contests. One year later, he registered 44 points in 47 games. As an overage player this season, Parker took the opportunity to shine at his brightest, leading the way for the Americans with 39 goals and 96 points, while playing in all 72 games.

Parker Bowles becomes the second player to join the Nailers this season after finishing his amateur career, as Rob De Fulviis appeared in two games over the weekend, following a three-year career at the University of Guelph. Bowles is expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday night, wearing uniform number 26.

The Nailers will face the Toledo Walleye on Tuesday night at 7:05. It will be a Two for Tuesday, in which all tickets are "Buy One, Get One Free." In addition, all kids tickets are $5, thanks to McDonald's. There are other exciting promotions coming up soon, including Duck Dynasty Night Starring Si Robertson on April 1st, and a visit by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on April 2nd.
