Fight Cancer Night Raises over $10K for RACE Charities

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce that RACE Charities raised over $10K on Fight Cancer Night this past Saturday.

"We are very excited about it all and were honored to be able to share our special night with the entire Thunder organization," said Jeromy Gensch, President of RACE Charities. "Partnering with the Thunder was a wonderful opportunity to spread much needed awareness about the importance of colon cancer screening and we are very thankful for the generosity of the fans this past weekend."

RACE Charities, a Wichita-based nonprofit foundation honors the life of Wichita native, Glory Gensch and her wish to save lives from colon cancer by early detection. All donations raised will be sent to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. Visit www.racecharities.org to learn more about RACE Charities and colon cancer awareness.

Wichita has a few days off before hosting the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
