GLENS FALLS, NY - Joel Martin backstopped a 38-save shutout, and Ludwig Blomstrand registered a second-period game winner as the Kalamazoo Wings bested the Adirondack Thunder, 2-0, on Tuesday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

With tremendous chances at either end, goaltending played center stage during a scoreless first period. Martin and his counter-part, Maveric Parks of the Thunder, stole the show in the first twenty minutes. Martin made 12 first-period saves, while Parks made eight stops of his own.

Midway through the second period and moments after killing off their second penalty of the game, the Wings struck for the game's first tally. Cory Pritz sailed a long slap shot towards the goal that was initially stopped by Parks, but Ludwig Blomstrand was left alone on the doorstep to tap home his team-leading 23rd of the season.

Ten minutes later, the Wings were able to build upon their lead after winning an attacking-zone faceoff. Curtis Valk pulled the puck back to Evan McEneny, who dished the puck across the line for an Adam Phillips one-timer that zipped past the outstretched leg pad of Parks.

With the Parks pulled in favor of an extra attacker, the Wings fought off each of the Thunder's last-minute attacks, and swiped the victory on the road.

Next: Kalamazoo vs. Reading- Wednesday, March 23, 7:00 p.m., Santander Arena.

Notes: Kalamazoo ended the season series with Adirondack by posting a 1-0-1-0 record. Curtis Valk's point streak was pushed to six games. Martin registered his 24th career shutout. Blomstrand has goals in two straight games. McEneny has tallied 20 points in 27 games with Kalamazoo this season.
