Murovich Recalled by Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forward Tyler Murovich from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

Murovich has collected three goals, three assists and 32 penalty minutes in 21 games this season for the Nailers. The 25-year-old split last year between the Iowa Wild (AHL) and the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears. In 60 games with Orlando, Murovich posted 30 points (18G-12A) and 64 penalty minutes, while notching one goal in 14 appearances with Iowa.

Now in his fifth year as a pro, Murovich skated with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during his rookie season in 2010-11 after being acquired from the Springfield Falcons. The Pittsburgh-native appeared in two contests for the Penguins before joining the Nailers and recording 10 points (5G-5A) in 20 games.

Murovich has played in 64 career AHL games between Hamilton, Iowa, Springfield, Syracuse and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, registering eight goals, seven assists and 62 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 228 ECHL contests, totaling 126 points (55G-71A) and 284 penalty minutes.

The Penguins close out their three-game weekend this afternoon versus the Norfolk Admirals at 4:05 p.m.
