Blue Jackets Assign Goaltender Anton Forsberg to Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Forsberg, 22, recorded 26 saves in his NHL debut on Nov. 1 at New Jersey in a 3-2 loss to the Devils. He has posted a 0-1-0 record with a 5.30 goals-against average and .841 save percentage in two games with Columbus this season. The Harnosand, Sweden native currently ranks second among AHL netminders in save percentage and goals-against average and third in wins, posting a 14-3-0 record with a 1.75 goals-against average, .938 save percentage and two shutouts in 18 games with Springfield.

Columbus' sixth pick, 188th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, Forsberg is 17-3-0 with a 1.65 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in 22 career AHL games since making his North American professional debut with the Falcons late in the 2013-14 season.
