
Graovac and Sutter Recalled, Falk Assigned

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Sunday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Tyler Graovac (pronounced GREY-oh-vack) and Brett Sutter (pronounced SUH-tuhr) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned defenseman Justin Falk to Iowa. Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill also announced the team has released goalie David DeSander from a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Graovac, 21 (4/27/93), leads Iowa with 12 goals, six power play tallies and 86 shots and ranks tied for first on the team with 24 points in 31 games this season. The 6-foot-5, 206-pound native of Brampton, Ont., recorded 25 points (13-1225) and 29 penalty minutes (PIM) in 64 games during his rookie season with Iowa in 2013-14. Graovac was selected by Minnesota in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and has not appeared in an NHL game. He will wear sweater No. 53 with the Wild.
Sutter, 27 (6/2/87), has collected 15 points (6-915) in 30 games with Iowa this season and ranks fourth on the team in scoring. He has tallied one assist and four PIM in two games with Minnesota this season averaging 8:46 in ice time and owns eight points (2-68) and 40 PIM in 56 career NHL games with the Wild, Calgary Flames and Carolina Hurricanes. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Viking, Alta., wears sweater No. 27 with Minnesota.
Falk, 26 (10/11/88), has averaged 9:21 in time on ice in nine contests with Minnesota this season and recorded four points (1-34) and 24 penalty minutes (PIM) in 18 games with Iowa. The 6-foot-5, 222-pound native of Snowflake, Man., has totaled 17 points (1-1617) and 125 PIM in 138 career NHL games with Minnesota and the New York Rangers.
DeSander made his AHL debut Friday night in Grand Rapids, playing in the third period of a 9-2 Iowa defeat. He stopped six of seven.
Iowa returns home on Monday, Dec. 29th at 7 p.m. to host Milwaukee. The team is partnering with LifeServe Blood Center for a blood drive, which runs from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 29. For donating, all fans will be rewarded with one ticket to a future Iowa Wild hockey game and an Iowa Wild hat. The first 50 fans that make a donation will be given an Iowa Wild hat, autographed by one of the players. For the game, fans may purchase the Subway Combo Pack, which starts at $12 per person and includes a ticket, hot dog, soda and a subway coupon.
The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April.
