December 28, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Oklahoma City Barons News Release

Andrew Miller scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Oklahoma City Barons past the Charlotte Checkers 2-1 Sunday at the Cox Convention Center.

The Barons scored both their goals in the game's final 3:03, capped by Miller's shot from the high Charlotte slot that sailed over Charlotte goaltender John Muse 1:27 into the overtime period.

For the second straight day, the Barons won a game while trailing 1-0 after two periods.

Charlotte took a 1-0 lead 6:34 into the second period when Phil Di Guiseppe took a Chad LaRose pass in the low slot and chipped the puck past Oklahoma City goalie Laurent Brossoit.

Oklahoma City tied the game with 1:36 left in regulation when Jordan Oesterle sent a shot from the point that deflected to the ice off Charlotte goaltender John Muse and then bounced off the skate of Charlotte forward Jared Staal and into the Checkers net. With an assist on the goal, Anton Lander extended his current point streak to six games.

Muse stopped 38 shots for the Checkers, while Brossoit saved 28.

The Barons are back in action Wednesday, Dec. 31 when they once again face the Charlotte Checkers in a 6 p.m. start at the Cox Convention Center.
