Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- The Florida Marlins have announced two player moves affecting the Carolina Mudcats.
Shortstop Robert Andino has been promoted to the Florida Marlins. Andino learned of the promotion following Thursday night's games against the Jacksonville Suns. To make room for Andino on the 40-man roster, LHP Chad Bentz was placed on waivers. Bentz cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque.
RHP Carlos Martinez has been reassigned to the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League. Martinez earned a save in his only Double-A game against the Mobile BayBears earlier in the week.
The Mudcats roster sits at 21 players, three under the league limit. A revised roster is attached.
The Mudcats closed their regular season last night, and will open the Northern Division Championship Series on Wednesday at Pringles Park against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. Beyond the opening two games Wednesday and Thursday in Jackson, TN, other game dates, times and locations are still yet to be determined.
