Sevierville, Tenn.- Chris Carter and Stephen Drew connected for back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to snap a 1-1 tie and Mike Schultz earned his sixth save as Tennessee topped Huntsville 4-2 Thursday night at Smokies Park.
Enrique Gonzalez (11-8) held the Stars to one run over six innings for the win. Schultz allowed a leadoff single in the ninth, but got Jeff Winchester to hit into a double play.
Glenn Woolard (7-11) allowed all four runs over six innings.
Tennessee hosts Montgomery for a four game series to close the season beginning Friday at 7:15. RHP Dustin Nippert (8-3, 2.32) will start for the Smokies against a Montgomery starter to be determined.
