JACKSON, TN- A balk in the 10th inning with a runner at third led the BayBears to a 2-1 win Friday night in Jackson, TN. Jon Searless (6-3) was called for the balk, causing an argument from West Tenn interim Manager Alan Dunn. Mobile's first run came on a bases loaded walk to Corey Smith in the eighth inning. West Tenn initially took a 1-0 first inning lead on an RBI single by Casey McGee.
The BayBears winning pitcher was Ryan Meaux (2-0) after he threw two scoreless innings. Dale Thayer picked up his 27th save, to lead the Southern League, after pitching a scoreless bottom of the tenth inning. Sean Thompson started the game for the BayBears, allowing just one run in seven innings, striking out seven and walking five.
