The RubberDucks responded in the second against Erie starter Wilsen Palacios. Bryan LaHair led off with a single and moved to third on an Anthony Gallas double. Alex Lavisky grounded out, plating LaHair and Jordan Smith brought home Gallas on a sacrifice making it 4-2.
The Ducks crept closer in the sixth as LaHair sent a leadoff home to right to help Akron pull within a run.
