Akron RubberDucks News Release
(AKRON, OHIO) July 3, 2014 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today that tickets are sold out for the Independence Day Celebration presented by FirstEnergy, including a post-game Fourth of July fireworks show.
The Akron RubberDucks and the City of Akron are teaming up to host Independence Day fireworks presented by FirstEnergy. The fireworks will follow a 6:35 p.m. game against the Bowie Baysox. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
The fireworks show will run for 15 minutes, the longest show on Independence Day in Akron in more than five years.
"We're thrilled to have sold out the Fourth of July celebration, our sixth sellout of the season. The fan response has been amazing," Akron RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander said. "We are excited to continue to provide Northeast Ohio the very best in affordable, family entertainment, and we hope this great partnership between the RubberDucks and the City of Akron becomes an annual tradition."
Tickets are going fast for the remainder of the weekend series, including Saturday's game against the Bowie Baysox at 7:05 p.m. Great seats remain available for the post-game fireworks set to music by Akron natives The Black Keys and performances by the ZOOperstars! throughout the game. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free bobblehead of The Black Keys.
