COMSTOCK PARK, MI - For the second time in three days, the West Michigan Whitecaps and Dayton Dragons have been postponed due to inclement weather - this time washing out the Saturday night festivities at LMCU Ballpark.
A steady rain waterlogged the playing surface throughout Saturday, forcing another postponement of the Whitecaps and Dragons. A similar situation unfolded just two days ago as rain swept through LMCU Ballpark on Thursday to postpone the Whitecaps-Dragons evening matchup.
The postponement marks the fourth time this season that the Whitecaps have not played on an intended gameday. On Friday, the Whitecaps and Dragons finished the first game of their doubleheader after a two-hour rain delay with a 2-1 victory over the Dragons before curfew rules forced the stoppage of play after five innings on Friday with Dayton leading West Michigan by a score of 7-4. The intent was to resume the ballgame, finishing its final two innings before a regularly scheduled nine-inning contest, but that plan will now be moved to Sunday afternoon. One of the games of this series will need to be rescheduled for a later date. Plans for that contest will be announced later this season.

Once finishing the second game of our Friday doubleheader, the Whitecaps and Dragons play their regularly scheduled contest against the Dragons on Sunday in a ballgame slated to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of their suspended game.
