
Moose Suffer Shutout Loss to Toronto

The Manitoba Moose (1-3-0-0) lost a 4-0 decision against the Toronto Marlies (3-0-0-0) on Saturday afternoon at Bell MTS Place.
The first period held little action until the final minute of the frame. Pontus Aberg posted a goal for the Marlies assisted by Pierre Engvall and Timothy Liligren making the score 1-0 heading into the second.
The Marlies continued to press offensively into the second period. Pierre Engvall collected a goal on a Nicholas Baptise rebound with the other assist being credited to Jordan Schmaltz. Just over three minutes later, Pontus Aberg scored his second of the game assisted by Baptiste and Engvall making the score 3-0.
Less than two minutes into the third period, Egor Korshkov added to the Marlies lead with a short handed goal. The Moose were unable to get on the board giving the Marlies the 4-0 win.
Marlies goaltender Joseph Woll posted a shutout in saving 23 shots. Woll is the first Marlies rookie to record a shutout in his first start.

The Moose play at home on Friday, Oct. 18 and take on the Iowa Wild in back-to-back matchups. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Manitoba Moose Halloween Game will be played on October 19th against the Iowa Wild. Fans are encouraged to dress up in costumes and arrive early for pre-game festivities. Puck drop is scheduled for 6pm CDT.
