TONIGHT

The Stockton Heat look to build on their strong start after a week off, seeking a 3-0 mark with a Saturday night tilt against the San Diego Gulls. The Heat never started 3-0 in the club's brief tenure, only starting 2-0 once prior to this season (2016-17).

Tonight's game is Stockton's home opener, a good sign historically for the Heat - the club is 3-0-1 all-time in the first home game of a season, the lone loss coming in overtime last year against the Ontario Reign.

BIG SNAG ZAG

Artyom Zagidulin will look to stay hot between the pipes for the Heat this weekend, coming off a two-win set in Colorado to open the season. 'Zag' stopped 60 shots over his first 120 minutes of AHL action, limiting the Eagles to two goals in each game. The netminder signed with Calgary following an impressive season with the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk in which he ran up a .924 Save Percentage and 1.16 Goals Against Average.

LOMBERG ALONE ON TOP

Fan-favorite Ryan Lomberg will skate in his 201st game with the Heat on Saturday, moving him past his former teammate Morgan Klimchuk as longest-tenured Heat player of all-time. The forward from Richmond Hill, Ontario set a career high with 29 points last season and finished second in the AHL with four shorthanded goals.

HERE'S TO YOU, MR. ROBINSON

Buddy Robinson has shot out of the gate on the 2019-20 campaign, scoring in each game for Stockton. Both of his goals last weekend were game-winners, already matching his GWG output from last year's 65 games played.

SPREADING THE WEALTH

Depth appeared to be a strength of this year's Heat squad on paper, and the team lived up to the hype as 12 of 18 skaters who hit the ice for the Heat registered at least one point in the season-opening sweep of Colorado. Of the 12 who hit the score sheet, eight were forwards and four were defensemen.

PK PROWESS

The Heat have gotten off to a strong start on the penalty kill, earning an even 1-1 tally last weekend while down a man. Stockton conceded just one goal on 12 chances, good for a 91.7-percent clip on the kill, while Robinson potted a shorthanded marker in Friday's contest.
