WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs enter the night in third-place in a tight North Division with five points, one point behind the Reading Royals and Adirondack Thunder. The Monarchs sit only one-point behind a four-team lead in the Eastern Conference between the Royals, Thunder, Florida Everblades and Atlanta Gladiators.

LEADING THE WAY Matt Leitner (1g, 4a) and Daniel Ciampini (2g, 3a) lead the Monarchs in scoring heading into the weekend with five points each. The Monarchs have spread the wealth in the scoring column, as 17 of the 20 total skaters the team has put on the ice have at least one point.

FILLING THE NET The Monarchs lead the North division in goals for, including nine goals in their last two games, and are second in the Eastern Conference with 15 goals scored on the season. With an average of 3.75, the Monarchs are in a sixth in the ECHL in goals per game.

BACK IN THE HOUSE(R) The Cyclones will bring an old face to town this weekend, as goaltender, Michael Houser, will return to Manchester for the first time in an opposing uniform. Last season, Houser began the season with the Monarchs, and posted a 10-4-2-0 record, a 2.68 GAA and a 0.912 save percentage. Houser also spent time in Ontario (AHL) with the Reign, posting a 1-4-0-0 record, a 2.43 GAA and a 0.903 save percentage.

MAKING THEM COUNT Cory Ward has scored two goals in his first year out of Bemidji State University, and both were of the game-winning-goal variety. Ward scored the deciding goal in a 5-1 Monarchs victory over Reading last Friday night, and then followed with an overtime tally Saturday night in Adirondack. The first-year player is tied for the league lead in GWGs.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR Newly minted Monarchs, Sam Brittain and Teddy Doherty, will see a familiar uniform on the opposing bench this weekend, as both newcomers played for the Cyclones at one point in their respective careers. Brittain saw action (27 games) with the Cyclones in 2014-15 after his career at the University of Denver finished, and Doherty played in two games for Cincinnati to begin the 2016-17 season. Tony Turgeon also spent time in the other Queen City, playing for the Cyclones from 2013-15.
