Wichita Thunder News Release
Duluth, GA - Trailing by two heading into the third period, Wichita scored twice in the first two minutes and skated away with a 4-2 victory over Atlanta on Thursday morning at Infinite Energy Center.
Louick Marcotte led the way with a goal and an assist and Alex Krushelnyski added two more helpers.
A.J. White put the Gladiators on the board first with a goal four minutes into the contest. Wichita had some nice opportunities, but Steve Racine stopped all 10 shots he faced in the opening frame.
The Gladiators added to their lead with a goal from Tyler Murovich at 4:03 of the second to make it 2-0. Louick Marcotte recorded his first of the season at 12:43 with a wrist shot from the left circle and cut it to a 2-1 margin.
The game turned at the beginning of the third when Alexis Loiseau tied the game at two, scoring from his knees in front of the net. 25 seconds later, Chris Rumble gave Wichita its first lead when he caught a pass at Atlanta line off the rush and fired a shot past Racine from the top of the left circle. Gabriel Gagne tacked on another at 16:08 with a breakaway goal to end the scoring at 4-2.
In all three wins, Wichita has come from behind to take the victory. Marcotte recorded his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist. Krushelnyski extended his scoring streak to four games with two helpers. Gagne notched his first goal as a pro. Loiseau has goals in back-to-back games and also added an assist. Greenham earned his second win of the season, stopping 26 of 28 shots. Racine took the loss, stopping 35 of 39 shots he faced.
Wichita went 0-for-1 on the power play. Atlanta was 0-for-1 on the man advantage.
