Minnesota Wild Reassigns Christoph Bertschy and Gustav Olofsson to Iowa

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher tonight announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forward Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee) and defenseman Gustav Olofsson (pronounced GOO-stahv OH-lawf-suhn) to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Both were recalled this morning under emergency conditions.

Bertschy, 21 (4/5/94), has recorded three shots and three hits in two games with Minnesota this season and made his NHL debut on Nov. 7 in a 1-0 win against Tampa Bay. He has collected six points (2-4=6) including a power-play and shorthanded goal and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with Iowa this season. The rookie ranks T-1st on the team in goals and scoring.

Olofsson, 20 (12/1/94), did not appear in Minnesota's 3-2 overtime win at Carolina tonight and has recorded three assists in 15 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound native of Boras, Sweden, has collected four points (1-3=4) and 33 shots on goal in 24 career AHL games with Iowa. He has not appeared in a NHL game.
