Wolves Host Salute to Military Families Night
November 13, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves are proud to host the second Salute to Military Families Night, presented by Kia and Magellan, on Saturday, Nov. 21, when the team hosts the Grand Rapids Griffins at Allstate Arena.
The Wolves, Kia and Magellan will honor current and former servicemen, servicewomen and their families throughout the night for their selfless dedication to our country.
"We were heartened by the response to our first Salute to Military Families Night," said Chicago Wolves president Mike Gordon. "Many people who make a practice of avoiding the spotlight graciously accepted the attention they deserve. We want to provide that opportunity again while allowing families to enjoy their evening together."
"Kia is grateful to the brave men and women who have elected to serve our country, and the Salute to Military Families game will honor current and former servicemen and their families," said Stephanie Janiunas, Regional Marketing Manager for Kia Motors America. "The first Salute to Military Families game was a memorable night, and working together with the Chicago Wolves there are even more ways we are planning to recognize military personnel throughout the game."
"Sponsoring the Salute to Military Families is important to us because it recognizes the selflessness and sacrifice of military families," said Michael Minkus, Magellan's Manager of External Relations and Communications. "We are indebted to our servicemen and women as well as their families. This is one small way we can thank them. Our organization is happy and honored to be a part of this tribute."
As part of Salute to Military Families Night, the Wolves will unveil exclusive Military Appreciation jerseys the team also will wear for three home dates in February. Jerseys belonging to goaltender Jordan Binnington, head coach John Anderson and assistant coach Mark Hardy will be available via silent auction on Nov. 21 at Allstate Arena with the other game-worn jerseys available via auction and raffle on Feb. 6, 18 and 20.
Proceeds from the commemorative jerseys as well as autographed Military Appreciation Night pucks will benefit Chicago Wolves Charities, The Heart of a Marine Foundation, 1Fur1 Foundation, Defending the Blue Line and military-related charities.
