Military Appreciation Night Next Sunday

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, January 17 at 5:00 p.m.

The team is proud to announce Major Linda Cunha, Technical Sergeant Patrick Clancy, Private First Class Sean Pesce, First Sergeant Paul Hannaway, Command Master Chief Richard Iannucci and Lieutenant Paul Errico as the winners of the "Sound Tigers Military Top Line," a group of six Connecticut military members that will be honored with a special trading card set sponsored by DOT Generation. The Connecticut heroes will also be signing autographs during both intermissions and performing the ceremonial puck drop.

All active duty and retired military personnel will receive free admission to the game by showing their military ID at the Webster Bank Arena Click It or Ticket Box Office.

The Sound Tigers will wear blue camouflage jerseys for the game that will be auctioned off through the end of the second intermission. Proceeds from the jerseys benefit the Better Business Bureau's Military Line Student Ethics Scholarship.

The Sound Tigers will also be hosting a Military Hockey Tournament on Saturday, January 16 starting at noon, with the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, Merchant Marines and Norwich University all participating. The championship game will be played immediately following the Sound Tigers game on Sunday. Fans can attend all three games free with a ticket to Sunday's Sound Tigers game.

Sound Tigers season ticket holders, who are veterans, will present the flag on the ice prior to the game. There will also be a Toiletry Drive for the Troops at the game. Items can be dropped off at the Fan Experience Table outside of Section 118.

A Veteran's Expo will take place on the 17 th starting at 3:00 p.m. presented by International Union of Painters & Allied Trades. Fans will get free admission to the Expo with a ticket to the Sound Tigers game. The Expo will feature businesses and organizations looking to hire and support veterans.
