Wolf Pack Defenseman Ryan Graves Earns AHL All-Star Classic Nod

January 7, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

HARTFORD - Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Ryan Graves was named today to the Atlantic Division team for the 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic.

Graves, a rookie out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, is the top goal-scorer among Wolf Pack blueliners with three, and has added eight assists for 11 points, in 34 games. He has also logged 25 penalty minutes. A fourth-round pick by the parent New York Rangers in 2013, Graves is the only first-year pro defenseman to earn an All-Star Classic berth from the Eastern Conference, and one of only two Eastern Conference rookies overall to be selected.

The 2016 AHL All-Star Classic will take place January 31 and February 1 in Syracuse, NY. The 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 31 (8:00 PM start) will maintain its traditional format, with All-Stars from the Eastern Conference battling against All-Stars from the Western Conference in seven skills events.

The 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Challenge will take place February 1 (7:00 PM), and instead of a traditional 60-minute game, the AHL's All-Stars will be divided into four teams, one representing each of the league's divisions (Atlantic, North, Central, Pacific). The teams will then play a round-robin tournament featuring six games of nine minutes each; the first half of each game will be played at 4-on-4, and the second half at 3-on-3. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin tournament will face off for the championship, a six-minute game played at 3-on-3.

The Wolf Pack's next action is tomorrow night, Friday, January 8 vs. the Springfield Falcons, the first of three home games on the weekend. Faceoff is 7:15 PM. At all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at the XL Center, through the start of the second period.

Tickets for all 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.
