Albany Devils News Release

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Albany Devils goaltender Yann Danis and right winger Mike Sislo have been selected to participate in the 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic. Danis and Sislo are among 52 players to participate in the AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 31 and the All-Star Challenge on Feb. 1 in Syracuse, NY.

Danis, 34, ranks near the top of the league for several different categories. He is tied for first for shutouts (4), second for minutes (1401:49), tied for third for wins (15), fifth for goals-against average (2.01), ninth for saves (533) and tied for 11th for save percentage (.919).

Sislo, 27, is currently playing for the New Jersey Devils. At the AHL Sislo is having a career year. He is tied for second on the Devils with 23 points and leads the team with 13 goals. He is averaging 0.82 points-per-game and was on pace to register a career-high 62 points prior to his recall on Dec. 29. Entering the season, his best statistical year had been the 2013-14 campaign when he registered 41 points (23g-18a) in 59 contests.

Instead of a traditional 60-minute game, the league's all-stars will be divided into four teams, one representing each of the league's divisions (Atlantic, North, Central, Pacific). The teams will then play a round-robin tournament featuring six games of nine minutes each; the first half of each game will be played at four-on-four, and the second half at three-on-three. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin tournament will face off for the championship, a six-minute game played at three-on-three.
