Poulin Stops 32-Shots in Return But Heat Fall in OT to San Jose

San Jose, Calif. - Stockton Heat goaltender Kevin Poulin returned to the crease Wednesday night in San Jose and had himself an impressive first-game back, but two unfortunate bounces allowed the San Jose Barracuda to come back and defeat the Heat 4-3 in the overtime period. It was Poulin's first start since November 21st and he stopped 32 shots in the losing effort. Heat forward Morgan Klimchuk (1 goal) continued his hot streak at SAP Center, scoring a point for the third-straight game on the road in San Jose, while both Derek Grant and Kenny Agostino scored goals to extend their respective point streaks to four games each. The Stockton Heat will have to put this one in the rearview and focus on a tough matchup they have Friday night in Ontario against the first-place Reign - a team the Heat defeated 4-1 in their last meeting.

"I liked our first two periods for sure and parts of the third period. The tying goal was an unfortunate bounce off our guy and once you're in the 3-on-3 it's just a track meet for the most part. Unfortunately we were on the wrong end." - Head Coach Ryan Huska on his overall take on tonight's game.

"We have to just turn the page. Once we get to Ontario tomorrow, we'll have some time to get a short practice in and get ourselves ready for Friday night." - Coach Huska on turning the page for Friday's game against the Reign.
