Brandon Montour & Nick Ritchie Named to 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) has named defenseman Brandon Montour and left wing Nick Ritchie to the 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic, taking place in Syracuse, N.Y. on January 31 and February 1. Both rookies will be making their first AHL All-Star appearances.

Montour, 21 (4/11/94), has appeared in 30 games with San Diego this season, collecting 6-22=28 points with eight penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-0, 192-pound defenseman leads the Gulls in points and assists, ranking tied for 12th among league leaders in points and tied for second in assists. A native of Brantford, ON, Montour has recorded 4-15=18 points on the power play, leading the league in power play assists and power play points.

Ritchie, 20 (12/5/95), has appeared in 21 games with San Diego this season, collecting 12-8=20 points with 42 PIM. A native of Orangeville, ON, Ritchie spent 11 games with the Anaheim Ducks this season, collecting his first career NHL assist on Nov. 30 vs. Vancouver.
