Memphis Musters One Run, Three Hits in Loss at Nashville

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip with a 4-1 loss at the Nashville Sounds at First Horizon Park on Wednesday night.

The lone Memphis run came in on a shortstop Juniel Querecuto single to put the Redbirds on top in the fifth inning. Memphis recorded just three hits in the game, one night after recording four base hits in the series opening loss.

Starting pitcher Jake Woodford made his first start since being optioned to Memphis late last week. The right-handed pitcher allowed one run on two hits, walked two and struck out six in 4.2 innings pitched. The final three pitchers in relief did not allow a run.

MLB Rehabber Wilking Rodriguez tossed a scoreless seventh inning. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and struck out one batter.

The Redbirds (64-70) return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to begin the final homestand of the season at 6:45p.m. CDT against the Charlotte Knights.
