Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - A terrific 6-inning effort from Jason McEachern set the stage for a fourth straight win for the Hot Rods, a 3-0 victory against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. The righty earned his 1st win with Bowling Green this season, needing only a 4th inning home run from Julio Cedeno and a couple insurance runs in the 8th.
ÃÂ
McEachern and TinCaps left-hander Mark Hardy traded zeroes for three innings before Cedeno broke a scoreless tie.ÃÂ Hardy lasted 7 innings - allowing just one run - but was outdueled by McEachern, who gave up just 4 hits and one walk.
ÃÂ
Cedeno's solo shot, which provided the game's only run until the 8th inning, hit the top of the center field wall before leaving the field.ÃÂ It marked the third consecutive game with a homer for the third baseman, a new Hot Rods record.ÃÂ Cedeno now has seven homers for the season.
ÃÂ
With Bowling Green leading 1-0 in the 8th, Derek Dietrich roped a leadoff triple down the third base line - his third hit of the night - before a Phil Wunderlich single scored him.ÃÂ With Bowling Green now leading 2-0, Kevin Kiermaier came in as a pinch-runner for Wunderlich, swiped second base and advanced to third on an error before scoring on a wild pitch.
ÃÂ
After Nate Garcia wove two scoreless inning in the 7th and 8th, Chris Rearick came out for the 9th inning, striking out three and shutting the door for his 16th save of the season.
